(February 14, 2024) – CEDIA, the Association for Smart Home Professionals™, is now accepting submissions to the 2024 CEDIA Smart Home Awards, the annual global awards program honoring outstanding achievements in the field of smart home technology. To better recognize and celebrate the diverse talents and contributions within the industry, CEDIA has expanded its individual awards category to include Best Newcomer, Best Sales/Manufacturer’s Representative, and Best Technician.

We invite the industry (nominations accepted from non-members) to put forward individuals who they feel are worthy of this award; with examples of their dedication to their profession and eagerness to share their expertise with others.
This category is specifically designed to honour those individuals who have recently entered the industry (entered the industry from Jan 1, 2022) and have already made a significant impact. If you are a new professional in the smart home technology integration field and have demonstrated outstanding talent, dedication, and potential, this is the perfect opportunity to showcase your accomplishments and gain industry recognition. Entries can be nominated by themselves or by a peer and will be judged by a panel.
Celebrating sales representatives from manufacturers, distributors and manufacturer rep agencies, this award recognises those individuals that go above and beyond to put their customer first, excelling in customer service. Las candidaturas a esta categoría deben consistir en una instalación marítima e incluir un mínimo de dos sistemas residenciales de tecnología doméstica instalados por profesionales (por ejemplo, música, vídeo, control de iluminación, vigilancia de la salud y seguridad). La propuesta debe ilustrar y explicar cómo se han integrado los sistemas para ofrecer al cliente más entretenimiento, comodidad, seguridad, control sanitario y fiabilidad.

Una documentación clara, detallada y precisa es la clave del éxito de un proyecto y debe ser reconocida por representar al menos dos propósitos: que pueda ser utilizada por cualquier persona que preste servicio a un sistema, ya sea su equipo u otro integrador, para que el sistema pueda ser mejorado y actualizado en cualquier momento, y que pueda servir al propietario de la vivienda como guía de su sistema.
Entries into this category must demonstrate exceptional understanding of delivering excellence in both lighting control and the installation of a well-conceived lighting system. The project could include sustainable and energy efficient lighting systems, with a variety of loads and control applications. The ability to automate and integrate will also be needed to be proven & displayed as a minimum for this category.
A winning entry will present how the rack is laid out in accordance to industry standards and conventions along with attention to detail on consideration of accessibility, future expansion possibilities, thermal management, and serviceability.
This category highlights a project that provides meaningful and relevant experiences for the user, with a focus on the end-user interaction with the system/s, as being paramount, whether this is through unique solutions, the user interface design or even the handover process. Entries in this category should showcase a User Interface for a single project. This can be a customised or unique UI.
This category cannot be applied for, all finalists are included for judging. By working with the design community, the integrator will have completed a project that complements the designs scheme for the intended space. The entry will explain how the specified technology has been successfully integrated to this effect within the category.
